The goal of this project was in-depth statistical analysis of discharge records at river gauges in Baden-Württemberg, Bayern and Rheinland-Pfalz to detect and quantify the impact of climate change. The focus was on statistical indices like mean flow (MQ), mean low water flow (MNQ), meand flood (MHQ) and floods of various recurrence intervals (HQT). The project was conducted in close cooperation with the state of Baden-Württemberg and the KLIWA project.

The main results are summarized in KLIWA reports 2, 3, and 14, the main consequence is the establishment of a 'climate-change-factor' applied to design floods, which serves to consider expected negative impacts of climate change on flood magnitude.
